Kitchen cabinet painting in Tipton, Great Bridge and Princes End. Doors and frames cleaned, keyed, primed and painted in a hard-wearing finish, with new handles if you want them.
The part that decides whether it lasts. Every door cleaned properly and lightly sanded so the primer bonds.
Solid wood, painted MDF and vinyl-wrapped doors all need a different first coat. Foil that is already peeling needs a different answer altogether.
Doors and drawer fronts done away from the kitchen where possible, frames and end panels painted in place with the room kept usable.
New handles fitted if you are changing them, old holes filled if the new ones use different centres.
A test door or panel painted first so you see the colour under your own kitchen lights.
A fine brush and roller finish as standard; spraying where the doors and the room suit it.
Plenty of Tipton kitchens are solid and well laid out, just tired or dated in colour. Painting the cabinets changes the whole room without ripping anything out. The finish only lasts if the preparation is right: kitchen doors carry years of grease, and paint put straight onto that peels at the handles within months. Doors come off, are degreased, keyed and primed with a primer made for the surface, whether that is wood, MDF or foil wrap, then painted in a tough cabinet paint.
In Tipton the kitchens we see most are the fitted kitchens that came in with the estates of the 1990s and 2000s: sound carcasses, dated doors. What moves the cost is the number of doors and drawer fronts, whether the frames and end panels are painted too, and what the doors are made of. A photo of the whole kitchen and one of a door edge lets us price it without a visit.
Send a photo or a quick video of the room on WhatsApp. Or ask for a free fixed quote with no obligation. We will tell you straight what it needs.
If the wrap is sound, yes, with a bonding primer. If it is lifting at the edges, the loose wrap has to come off first or the paint will lift with it.
Usually a few days, because each coat needs to harden before the next. You can still use the kitchen for most of that time.
A proper cabinet paint on a well-prepared door is hard-wearing. Give it a couple of weeks to cure fully before scrubbing it.
No, worktops take too much wear for paint. We can work around new worktops if you are changing them.
Only the ones being painted inside. Most jobs leave the cupboards usable throughout.
